El Reducto

Terrific location - in the heart of the medina but very easy to locate. The staff are just wonderful - from the checking in, to the folk in the restaurant - so efficient and so helpful. The roof top terrace is simply amazing and must be the best in town. Breakfast is terrific, as is the food in the restaurant. And it's licensed - so very reasonably priced beers and wines - very rare in Tetouan. Our room was good, if not spectacular.

Lovingly restored riad. Daily cleaning, with 2 bottles of water left in our room every day. Nice big bathroom with separate shower. (This was a really nice change after staying in too many riads with showers that spewed water all over the bathroom floors!) Great views of the city and the mountains from the restaurant on the roof of the riad, where there are a few different tiers. We had a good dinner at the rooftop restaurant one night.

El Reducto is a fabulous hotel in the heart of Tetouan's ancient medina, within easy walking distance of all the interesting sights the city has to offer. We loved our room - the Marakesh suite, which was so comfortable with all the little extras, and an excellent shower. Beautifully and sumptuously furnished and decorated, the hotel boasts an excellent restaurant with 5 star dining, plus a roof terrace where you can sit under the moon and enjoy a drink.

We loved everything about the property! It was so gorgeous, all of the little details were perfect. It felt so traditional and also so safe. the place was very clean the whole time. It is local area and also very quiet and peaceful. The staff were the real highlight though, especially the owner! They couldn't do enough for you and we felt like we were staying at a home away from home. the location was very central, in the medina, within very short distance to all city attractions, but at the same time quiet and accessible.

This is a very well appointed Riad. Very central in the Medina. Our room (which was the only one left), was the smallest but very well decorated and very comfortable. Only drawback was the noise from the restaurant below.... during busy afternoon service its very noisy (less so in the evening). The restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere for dinner in the evening. The starters, of which we had the Manchego and houmous were excellent. Huge portions which could easily do two people for sharing, incredible value. The main courses of lamb couscous and grilled lamb did not match the starters. Breakfast was okay but I would have expected better from a Riad with a restaurant. Overall it was so well appointed and comfortable it still rates highly and perhaps we were just unlucky with the main courses....
